Abroad in a Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for his bed,
the piddling Lord Jesus laid down his sweetness head.
The stars in the bright heaven looked down where he lay,
The petty Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
but lilliputian Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I dear thee, Lord Jesus! Look downward from the heaven,
And stay past my side until morning is most.
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight articulate,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending almost the earth
To bear on their harps of gold:
"Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From heaven's all-gracious Male monarch."
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.
Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O'er all the weary globe;
Higher up its deplorable and lowly plains
They bend on hovering fly,
And ever o'er its Babel-sounds
The blessed angels sing.
Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the heavenly strain have rolled
Ii thousand years of incorrect;
And man, at state of war with homo, hears non
The tidings which they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing!
O ye, beneath life's burdensome load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing mode
With painful steps and tiresome,
Look now! for glad and gilt hours
Come swiftly on the wing;
O rest beside the weary road
And hear the angels sing!
For lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophets seen of old,
When with the ever-circumvoluted years
Shall come up the fourth dimension foretold,
When peace shall over all the world
Its aboriginal splendors fling,
And the whole earth give back the song
Which at present the angels sing.

Expert Rex Wenceslas
Good King Wenceslas looked out
on the feast of Stephen,
when the snow lay round about,
deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shown the moon that night,
though the frost was barbarous,
when a poor man came in sight,
gathering winter fuel.
Hither, page, and stand by me.
If thou know it telling:
yonder peasant, who is he?
Where and what his habitation?
Sire, he lives a skilful league hence,
underneath the mountain,
right against the woods fence
by Saint Agnes fountain.
Bring me flesh, and bring me wine.
Bring me pino logs hither.
Yard and I volition see him dine
when we conduct the thither.
Page and monarch, forth they went,
along they went together
through the rude air current's wild lament
and the biting conditions.
Sire, the night is darker at present,
and the air current blows stronger.
Fails my heart, I know not how.
I can become no longer.
Ark my footsteps my expert page,
tread k in them boldly:
M shalt find the wintertime's rage
freeze thy blood less coldly.
In his chief'southward step he trod,
where the snowfall lay dented.
Heat was in the very sod
which the saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure,
wealth or rank possessing,
ye who now will bless the poor
shall yourselves detect blessing.
I Saw Three Ships
I saw three ships come sailing in
on Christmas Mean solar day, on Christmas Mean solar day.
I saw iii ships come sailing in
on Christmas Day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three
on Christmas Solar day, on Christmas Mean solar day?
And what was in those ships all three
on Christmas Twenty-four hours in the morn?
The Virgin Mary and Christ were at that place
on Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.
The virgin Mary and Christ were at that place
on Christmas Twenty-four hours in the morning time.

O Holy Nighttime
O holy dark! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's nascency.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of promise the weary earth rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the dark when Christ was born;
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
O night, O holy nighttime, O night divine!
Led past the light of organized religion serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle nosotros stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient country.
The Male monarch of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your Male monarch! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is dear and His gospel is peace.
Bondage he shall pause, for the slave is our blood brother.
And in his proper noun all oppression shall finish.
Sweetness hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise nosotros,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more than proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
Carol of the Bells
Carol of the Bells is an accommodation of an ancient Ukrainian folk song
called a "shchedrivka". An arrangement by Mykola Leontovych (1877-1921)
was popularized in the 1930's by Oleksander Koshyts (1875-1944), a
Ukrainian choir managing director who worked in the US and Canada. It has since
become an American Christmas archetype.

Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,

Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
On on they transport ,

Christmas Without You
Words and Music by Dolly Parton and Steve Goldstein
White Christmas and I'g blue
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without y'all
The fireplace keeps called-for and my thoughts keep turning
The pages of memories of time spent with you
Sometime Christmas songs nosotros knew and used to brand love to
Make it hard to get used to
Christmas without yous
Chorus:
Christmas without you
White Christmas and I'm blue
I love you I miss you
So deplorable but then truthful
Christmas without yous
Similar a mystery with no clues
Like fireworks with no fuse
Christmas without you
The sweetest gift I know would be if the new snow
Could fall on your footsteps on this Christmas eve
The most joyous Christmas if luck could be with u.s.a.
Would be if Saint Nicholas brought you home to me
Echo chorus twice

The Huron Carol
'Twas in the moon of winter-fourth dimension
When all the birds had fled,
That mighty Gitchi Manitou
Sent angel choirs instead;
Before their light the stars grew dim,
And wandering hunter heard the hymn:
"Jesus your Male monarch is born, Jesus is born,
In excelsis gloria."
Within a lodge of broken bawl
The tender Infant was plant,
A ragged robe of rabbit skin
Enwrapp'd His beauty round;
But as the hunter braves drew almost,
The angel song rang loud and high... Refrain
O children of the forest costless,
O sons of Manitou,
The Holy Child of globe and heaven
Is built-in today for you.
Come kneel before the radiant Boy
Who brings y'all beauty, peace and joy. Refrain
In Excelsis Gloria
When Christ was born of Mary free,
In Bethlehem in that fair city,
Angels sung always with mirth and glee,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria,
In excelsis gloria.
Herdsmen beheld these angels bright-
To them appeared with great lite,
And said, "God'due south son is born this night." Refrain
This King is come up to save His kind,
In the Scripture as we find;
Therefore this song we have in mind: Refrain
So, love Lord, for Thy smashing grace,
Grant us the bliss to meet Thy face,
Where we may sing to Thy solace: Refrain
Fum, Fum, Fum,
Castilian
On this blithesome Christmas Day
Sing fum, fum, fum
On this joyful Christmas 24-hour interval
Sing fum, fum, fum
For a blessed Babe was born
Upon this day at the break of morn
In a manger poor and lowly
Lay the Son of God nearly holy
Fum, Fum, Fum! Thanks to God for holidays
Sing fum, fum, fum
Now we all our voices raise
And sing a song of grateful praise
Celebrate in song and story
All the wonders of His celebrity
Fum, fum, fum
Sing fum, fum, fum
Now we all our voices raise
And sing a song of grateful praise
Celebrate in song and story
All the wonders of His celebrity
Fum, fum, fum
The Greatest Gift of All
John Jarvis
Dawn is slowly breaking
Our friends take all gone home
Yous and I are waiting
For Santa Claus to come There's a present by the tree
Stockings on the wall
Knowing you're in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all
The burn down is slowly fading
Chill is in the air
All the gifts are waiting
For children ev'rywhere
Through the window I tin see
Snow begin to fall
Knowing you're in dearest with me
Is the greatest gift of all
Merely before I go to sleep
I hear a church building bell band
Merry Christmas ev'ryone
Is the song it sings
Then I say a silent prayer
For creatures great and small
Peace on earth goodwill to men
Is the greatest gift of all
Peace on earth goodwill to men
Is the greatest gift of all
Stockings on the wall
Knowing you're in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all
Chill is in the air
All the gifts are waiting
For children ev'rywhere
Snow begin to fall
Knowing you're in dearest with me
Is the greatest gift of all
I hear a church building bell band
Merry Christmas ev'ryone
Is the song it sings
For creatures great and small
Peace on earth goodwill to men
Is the greatest gift of all
Peace on earth goodwill to men
Is the greatest gift of all

William Chatterdon Dixs
Version 1 & 2
What child is this, who, lay to rest,
on Mary's lap, is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
while Shepards spotter are keeping Chorus This, this is Christ the Rex
whom Shepards guard and angels sing
Haste, Haste, to bring him laud,
The babe, the son of Mary
Why lies he in such mean estate
where ox and ass are feeding?
Adept Christian, fear; for sinners
here the silent Discussion is pleading
Chorus
So bring Him incense, gilded, and myrrh come up,
peasant, Rex, to ain him;
The Rex of kings salvation brings,
let loving hearts enthrone Him

But my center remains in captivity

To grant any you would crave,
I accept both wagered life and land,
Your love and good-will for to have
If you intend thus to disdain,
It does the more enrapture me,
And notwithstanding, I still remain
A lover in captivity
My men were clothed all in green,
And they did e'er wait on thee;
All this was gallant to be seen,
And yet thou wouldst not love me
Yard couldst want no earthly thing,
but all the same thou hadst it readily

And even so thou wouldst not honey me
Well, I volition pray to God on high,

And that yet in one case before I die,

The Night Earlier Christmas
Clement Clarke Moore - adapted by Johnny Marks
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a beast was stirring, not even a mouse.
All the stockings were hung by the chimney with intendance
In the hope that Saint Nicholas shortly would be there.
Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer,
A lilliputian old driver and then lively and quick,
I knew in a moment information technology must be Saint Nick.
And more rapid than eagles his reindeer all came
As he shouted, "Oh Dasher" and each reindeer's name.
And then up to the housetop the reindeer presently flew
With the sleigh full of toys and Saint Nicholas, too.
Down the chimney he came with a leap and a leap;
He was dressed all in fur, and his belly was round.
He spoke not a word but went straight to this work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
Then giving a nod up the chimney he rose.
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
